Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Taskai ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Taskai is an AI-powered personal assistant Android application that helps you:
- Create, manage, and track tasks and reminders through a conversational interface
- Receive push notifications for scheduled tasks and reminders
- Process voice messages and convert them to text using speech recognition
- Synchronize data across your devices
- Provide personalized task management assistance in multiple languages
2.1 Service Tiers
Taskai offers both free and premium subscription tiers:
- Free Tier: Limited daily usage with access to core task management features
- Premium Subscription: Unlimited usage with full access to all features
- Grace Period: New users receive unlimited access for the first 7 days
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Taskai. By using the App, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 13 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- You have access to a compatible Android device
- You have a valid email address for account authentication
- All information you provide is accurate and truthful
4. User Responsibilities
4.1 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your authentication credentials
- Keeping your device and app secure
- All activities that occur through your account
- Immediately notifying us of any unauthorized use
- Managing your device's app data and permissions
4.2 Backup and Alternative Systems
You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for:
- Maintaining alternative reminder and notification systems for critical tasks
- Verifying the accuracy and timing of all reminders
- Not relying solely on Taskai for important deadlines or appointments
- Any consequences arising from missed or delayed reminders
- Backing up important task data
4.3 Acceptable Use
You agree to use Taskai only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any illegal, harmful, or malicious activities
- Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or exploit the App
- Send spam, abusive, or inappropriate content through the interface
- Share your account access with others
- Use the App to store sensitive personal information (SSN, credit card numbers, passwords, etc.)
- Attempt to overwhelm or abuse the service with excessive requests
- Manipulate app data in ways that could harm the service
- Disable or interfere with the App's security features
5. Push Notifications
5.1 Notification Requirements
Taskai requires notification permissions to function properly:
- You will be asked to grant notification permission when creating your first reminder
- On Android 13+, this requires explicit permission from you
- Denying notification permission will prevent the core reminder functionality from working
- You can manage notification settings in Android Settings → Apps → Taskai → Notifications
5.2 Notification Types
When you enable push notifications, we will send you:
- Task Reminders: Scheduled notifications for your tasks and reminders
- Morning/Evening Summaries: Daily task summaries (if enabled in settings)
- Nudge Reminders: Gentle prompts to help you stay on track (if enabled in settings)
- Service Updates: Important app updates and announcements
5.3 Notification Delivery
Push notifications are delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM):
- Notifications require an active internet connection
- Delivery timing may vary based on device state and network conditions
- We do not guarantee immediate or exact-time delivery of notifications
- Battery optimization settings may delay or prevent notification delivery
- You can disable battery optimization for Taskai in Android Settings for more reliable notifications
5.4 Disabling Notifications
You can disable push notifications at any time:
- Disable specific types (nudges, summaries) in app settings
- Disable all notifications in Android Settings → Apps → Taskai → Notifications
- Note: Disabling notifications will prevent you from receiving scheduled reminders
6. Subscriptions and Billing (Google Play)
6.1 Premium Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis and provide:
- Unlimited daily usage (no daily message limits)
- Access to all premium features
- Priority support
- Ad-free experience
6.2 Payment Processing
All subscription payments are processed through Google Play Billing. By subscribing, you agree to:
- Google Play's Terms of Service and payment policies
- Automatic recurring billing until cancelled
- Provide accurate payment information to Google
- Pay all applicable fees and taxes
Important: We do not process payments directly. All payment information is handled securely by Google Play.
6.3 Billing and Renewal
- Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually based on your selection
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Renewal Charge: Your Google Play account will be charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Changes apply to subsequent billing periods after your current subscription expires
- Prorated Billing: Upgrades between plans may be prorated according to Google Play's billing policies
6.4 Cancellation Policy
How to Cancel:
- Open Google Play Store on your device
- Tap Menu → Subscriptions
- Select Taskai
- Tap "Cancel subscription"
- Alternatively, contact us at taskai.agent@gmail.com for assistance
After Cancellation:
- You retain premium access until the end of your current billing period
- No refund will be provided for the unused portion of the current billing period
- Your account automatically reverts to the free tier when the subscription expires
- Your data and tasks will be preserved
- You can resubscribe at any time
6.5 Refund Policy
Refund Eligibility:
- Refunds are handled by Google Play according to their refund policies
- You may be eligible for a refund if you cancel within the first 48 hours of your initial subscription
- Refunds for technical issues will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- No refunds are provided for partial billing periods after 48 hours
- No refunds for subscriptions cancelled after use of premium features
How to Request a Refund:
- For purchases within the last 48 hours: Request through Google Play Store or contact Google Play Support

Refund Processing:
- Refunds approved by Google typically process within 3-5 business days
- The refund will be credited to your original payment method
- We will be notified of the refund and your premium access will be revoked immediately
6.6 Failed Payments
- If a renewal payment fails, Google Play will retry the charge
- Your subscription may be suspended or cancelled if payment continues to fail
- Update your payment method in Google Play to maintain uninterrupted service
- You will receive notifications from Google Play about failed payments
6.7 Free Tier Limitations
Free tier users are subject to daily usage limits:
- Limited number of messages per day (currently 50 messages)
- Access to core features only
- Upon reaching daily limits, you may wait until the next day (resets at midnight in your timezone) or upgrade to premium
- Grace period: First 7 days have unlimited access for new users
7. Privacy and Data
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using Taskai, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Service Availability
8.1 Uptime
While we strive to provide reliable service, we do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Specific uptime percentages
- Immediate delivery of all reminders or push notifications
- Service availability during maintenance or technical issues
8.2 Maintenance
We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or improvements. We will provide reasonable notice when possible. During maintenance:
- The app may be temporarily unavailable
- Push notifications may be delayed
- New tasks may not sync immediately
9. AI and Accuracy
9.1 AI Limitations
Taskai uses AI technology to process and respond to your messages. Please understand that:
- AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate or misinterpreted
- The app may not understand complex or ambiguous requests
- You should verify important information and dates
- The AI continues to learn and improve over time
- Natural language processing is not 100% accurate
9.2 No Professional Advice or Critical Services
Taskai is a task management tool and does NOT provide:
- Medical, legal, financial, or professional advice
- Emergency or critical reminder services
- Guaranteed accuracy for important deadlines
- Life-critical, safety-critical, or time-sensitive notifications
- Services for medication reminders, medical appointments, or health-related schedules
9.3 User Responsibility for Critical Tasks
IMPORTANT: You acknowledge and agree that:
- Taskai should NOT be relied upon for critical, urgent, or time-sensitive matters
- You are solely responsible for remembering and managing important deadlines, appointments, and obligations
- You should use additional, independent reminder systems for critical tasks
- Taskai is intended as a convenience tool only, not a primary or essential reminder system
- Any reliance on Taskai for critical matters is at your own risk
10. Third-Party Integrations
Taskai integrates with third-party services such as:
- Google Play Services (for app distribution and billing)
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (for push notifications)
- Auth0 (for authentication)
- Google Sign-In (for authentication)
- OpenAI services (for AI processing)
- Google reCAPTCHA v3 (for bot protection and security)
Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.
11. Intellectual Property
11.1 Our Rights
Taskai and all related technology, software, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute our software
- Use our trademarks or branding without permission
- Create derivative works based on our app
- Decompile or reverse engineer the app
11.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you submit to Taskai (tasks, messages, etc.). By using the app, you grant us a license to process and store this content to provide the service.
12. Disclaimers and Limitations
12.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
12.2 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM MISSED, DELAYED, INACCURATE, OR FAILED REMINDERS OR NOTIFICATIONS
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENCES OF MISSED APPOINTMENTS, DEADLINES, TASKS, OR OBLIGATIONS
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR PAYMENT PROCESSING ISSUES, BILLING ERRORS, OR SUBSCRIPTION-RELATED PROBLEMS CAUSED BY GOOGLE PLAY
- WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR NOTIFICATION DELIVERY FAILURES CAUSED BY DEVICE SETTINGS, NETWORK ISSUES, OR FIREBASE CLOUD MESSAGING
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE (IF ANY) IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM
- THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app or violation of these Terms.
14. Termination
14.1 By You
You may stop using Taskai at any time by:
- Uninstalling the app from your device
- Cancelling your subscription through Google Play Store (if applicable)
- Clearing app data in Android Settings
- Requesting deletion of your server-side data by contacting us at taskai.agent@gmail.com
14.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Use the app inappropriately or abusively
- Engage in activities that harm our service or other users
- Fail to pay subscription fees (for premium users)
- Violate Google Play Developer Program Policies
14.3 Effect of Termination
- Upon termination, your access to the service will cease
- Push notifications will be disabled
- Active premium subscriptions will be cancelled (subject to Google Play's refund policy)
- We may retain certain data as described in our Privacy Policy
- Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations for services already provided
- You should manually clear app data and uninstall the app if desired
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated Terms in the app
- Sending you a push notification through the app
- Updating the "Last updated" date
- Posting an announcement on our website
Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Israel. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the app shall be resolved in the courts of Israel.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
18. Google Play Policies
This app complies with Google Play Developer Program Policies. You agree to:
- Use the app in compliance with Google Play policies
- Not attempt to circumvent Google Play's security or billing systems
- Not use the app in ways that violate Google's terms of service
